Went over Christmas, Let me say first, don't go in winter, it's average 30-45 degrees, and there is NO HEAT in most of the hotels, rooms and public spaces. We slept in our clothes many nights. Also, minimal HOT WATER for showers, many ppl had no hot water in the mornings. I hear G1 wants to open up a full winter schedule on this trip, big mistake, hotels with no heat are not comfortable.
Do not book the optional dinner, The restaurant was closed, there were 3 staff members, all in street clothes who apparently had not waited tables before, took our wine order when we finshed out dinner, which I sent back due to the fact it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Most ppl thought the food was horrible and the service. They wanted to charge us for water bottles, and the price of the meal was $38 per person!!! A very disappointing night out. Barely made it for the "sunset" with about 5 minutes to spare. WASTE OF MONEY
The guide Juan Leon, was wonderful.

The frst day in the bus was 12 hours. The final day in the bus was 13 hours back to Phoenix, as the border crossings were a nightmare. The bus is nice, with a bathroom that was used constantly due to the long hours.

Most of the bathrooms inthe National park were frozer to the point of not being able to be used.
I think the trip would be fine in the summer, def. rustic, to say the least, but tolerable in the summer..

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I hope Gate 1 takes note of your feedback and adjusts their scheduling accordingly to avoid the cold months.

Yes, definately not to be taken in the winter. What saved the trip was the guide, Juan, what a great guy, and the group was one of the most fun.
Some of the places were beautiful, city of Alamos Spanish Colonial, was lovely. Go, if you have been everywhere. The price could be even lower.
