::bashful::Leaving soon on the 10 day Costa Rica with Manuel Antonio ! Anyone last minute recommendations? I see rain chances everyday but low rain fall amounts? Are the biting insects bad? How was zip line and Manuel Antonio area? Will post about trip after return with pictures.

We just came back from the 10 day classic tour of Costa Rica with Manuel Antonio. It was one of the best guided tours we have ever had mainly because the guide, Rafael Campos, is extremely knowledgeable and well-organized. He was able to point out important details about wildlife whether we were on a hiking trail or on a boat ride on the river. It really enriched the tour for us and made it very enjoyable. If all the Gate1 guides are like this, it would definitely make us a Gate1 fan and we'll consider looking at going with Gate1 on other tours, especially going back to Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is an amazing country with lush forests and abundant wildlife. On one boat ride alone on the Rio Frio in the Cano Negro area, we saw more than 30 different species. Of course, this is thanks to Rafael being right on the ball in looking out for them. What a feast! The most surprising thing for us was that there were no mosquitoes, not even in marshland and wet places. It's great to be able to enjoy the outdoors, whether hiking or eating dinner in the open air, without worrying about bug bites.
