Does Gate 1 still offer the $50 online review credit for a recommendation posted on Tripadvisor? I sent this question to the customer care department, but as of yet, have not received a reply.

Gate 1 Travel does not provide credits for statements posted on review sites or social media posts. Gate 1 does encourage our passengers to share their experiences from Gate 1 Tours through social media and review sites, but does not currently provide any credit towards bookings.

Gate 1 does send a brief survey 10-14 days after passengers return from their tour and does incentivize them for their feedback (whether good or bad) with a $25 future credit for a new booking.

Admin, as I do my booking using your online tool, how do I go about getting credits applied to those new bookings?  Do I have to call and work with one of your agents?  Have accumulated a few of these and have yet to see a way to apply online.  Thanks for your help in clarifying how to 'redeem' the credits.

I had a $25 credit from a review last year and when I booked my next trip it was applied automatically.
I am going on the Affordable Morocco trip on Nov. 8.  Would love to meet some of my tour mates!

" it was applied automatically."

Thanks Jane.  Booked by 6th trip about a month ago and have never had a single credit applied (in fact lost one as it expired).

Guess I'll have to call Cust Service and see what the deal is.

gotta travel - Currently our site does allow for these to be added during the booking process. When you are on the contact screen after logging in and selecting your tour there is an area that will have your survey credit in the middle of the screen. If you do have another promotion on the booking it will not allow the credit to be applied. This is a security feature so that multiple credits are not applied to one reservation. However, these credits are able to be combined but you must either email info@gate1travel.com or give our reservations center a call. There is no way to add a credit to a booking that has already been made - but you can view these in your My Account screen for active and expired promotions on your account.

Thank you for your feedback, we are always looking for ways to improve our online booking processes and I have sent your feedback to our IT department for them to incorporate this easier into the booking process.

We would be happy to take a look at your booking and see what credits can be applied at this point. Please either reply to this message privately with your booking number and/or name and we will be in touch with the information on file.

Best Regards,

Thanks Gate 1 Admin for your response and in providing directions on how to redeem credits.  Will keep this in mind on my future travels and assume since my next trip is already booked and paid in full, I missed the boat this time around.

Looking forward to our next trip and another survey credit.

Glad to see these questions and answers.  I had not known about the cessation of credit for online reviews until I recently contacted Gate 1 directly.  Now I'd like feedback about the $25 survey credit.

My wife and I travel together.  After the earlier trips we each began getting a survey afterward, but I noticed recently that her credit was not posted on my account (the account that was used for booking each of our trips...and I may have missed asking about her credits for the last booking or two).  Since we use this one account only shouldn't both credits be applied on it?

We have traveled with Gate 1 for over 10 years, and as far back as I can remember we have received only one survey request after a trip sent to the email of record for our account.  I have never received two.

They did used to give rewards for online reviews.  I see in my account record of using such credits in amounts of $25 and $50 in the last couple of years.  I think they stopped paying for these reviews as word got around that good reviews were being paid for by the tour supplier, tarnishing their value in most people's minds.

How long did it take for you to get the credit?  I completed an online survey a week ago and have gotten the $25. credit.
