Wish we were going at that time or you going the week we are, it would be great to meet up with fellow Gate1 travelers. We are actually doing this trip December 2-9. Taking advantage of the Italian Christmas Markets :) We have done several Escorted tours with Gate1 and leaving in October for a Thailand escorted tour but this is our first Independent tour through Gate1 and first for husband to drive in Italy. He has driven in Ireland, New Zealand so understands left side driving. We also purchased an international GPS to help so we will not have to rent. Once you return after your November trip PLEASE message me some tips? I'm concerned with parking in Montecatini and how it works? We are booked at the Grand Hotel so any tips from you would be great!

"so understands left side driving."  Won't be needing that skill in Italy.  Looking forward to reading your trip report when you return and how the Christmas markets are in Italy.  Have fond memories of the German markets.  Always looking for good independent travel options.

Just 2 days left before to go to Tuscany, nobody in this trip contacted this site to make a group into Italy, I can do it for my self, but seems nobody used this community media to participate at least with a comment related with this petition. Good luck anyway folks.

This trip to Tuscany, was a wonderful experience. We arrived to Milan, drove to La Spezia, we made the tour to Monterosso in Train, gorgeous. later on the night we went to the Hotel in Montecatini, beautiful and colonial place. The following day, was a excellent recommendation go to Pisa and Luca by train, historic places that you will have in mind forever. On Sunday we went to Florence in Train, nice and historic city, but be careful, we were victims of an "assault" by two municipal policies; the Public Bus is cheap 1,50 euros, but nobody knows how to buy the tickets and any business don't display any sign where to buy it. When you ride the Bus, the driver does not accept money and he leaves to go inside the Bus. Terror after that, two City employees started to ask for the tickets, we explained that we did not know how to buy it, does not the matter, they threatened us with call the Police if we did not pay 50 euros each of us, without care if we are tourist and was an involuntary mistake. Aftermath the rest of the trip was fantastic, Sienna, Greve in Chianti, Saint Gimminiagno, are in the heart of the Tuscany, wonderful places, a lot of pictures. On Wednesday coming back to Milano, you can go to Parma, but we preferred to go to Milano, left the car in the Airport and later we visited the Duomo and the historic Cathedral, fabulous experience. We encouraged definitively to take this trip, more with the special prices provided by Gate 1 Travel. Thanks for your attention.

Thank you Luis, very much! Why did you take train - because of parking problems/prices? Have you always used train or used the car too? Are there many tunnels on the way to la Spezia? Have you bought medical insurance for a trip? Thanks a lot.Olivia
