Just came back from 13 days Turkey trip. Many wonderful places. Very safe. If you can have Mehmed as your tour guide, you will be blessed. Great guide with so much knowledge, very organized and informative. Turkey offers great history and archeological sites to visit. For shopping, make sure you bargain from 30 % of any price they ask and if you pay less than half from the asking price, it is the right price. Most of hotels are okay, buffets are okay, but you may get tired of having same menus, every day, from breakfast to dinner. Most of hotels will charge you to use their fitness center, but free Wi-Fi.  Don't change your cash dollars to turkish lira at airport, they charge comision fee of 3,9 %.  You can do better at the hotel. Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did.
We have family trip planned to Turkey on next  December 23th. Traveling with teenagers.  We are very concerned about terrorism threat.   Who ever had traveled recently can share their experience and feel?   Almost deciding to cancel the trip.
