Still can't upload photos to the Photo Gallery!

Hello, I was just curious, do you know when Gate1 started going to Cuba?

U.S. airlines are starting to bid on routes to Cuba but it will be a while before it is open for general tourist travel for U.S. citizens. U.S. citizens are still restricted to travel to Cuba except for travel defined in the Treasury Department’s regulations on travel to Cuba (https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/Programs/Documents/cuba_faqs_new.pdf).

I would highly recommend this GATE-1 tour for people that want to see Cuba before it becomes another commercialized cruise ship destination full of Starbucks, McDonalds, Olive Garden Restaurants and cheap souvenirs shops.

Cruising the Malecón waterfront in Havana, in old cars, with the tops down, the car stereo turned up playing songs from the 50's and 60's, on our way to the restaurant. (Time travel to the past is possible in Cuba ...)

A photo of the U.S. Embassy and if you look carefully on the right side the U.S. flag is now flying. In January 4th, 1961 the U.S. flag was taken down and wasn't flown at the Embassy until August 14th, 2015.

Nice pics Bob! Makes me want to go.

Actually the pink Pontiac is a 1955. I have a thing for old Pontiacs from 1955 - 1966. I like the 1960 Buick pic from your ride, which I see is a `57 Chevy!

Randy,

Thanks for the info on the pink Pontiac. I'm much better on identifing old Fords and Chevys. My first car was a 1957 Ford and then a 1959 Ford Skyliner (retractable hardtop). I have two 1959 Skyliners in my garage waiting for restoration.

Lots of 1957 Chevys on the roads in Cuba. It was like a classic car rally every day.
