Hello We would welcome any suggestions or recommendations from previous traveller's experiences on this 27 days tour.

Such as Hardsuitcase vs Soft, clothing, Vaccination, Money Debit/Credit card and cash, Numbers of people on your tour? etc....

Our trip will start Nov16 so I would like to say hello to all the other tavellers that will be on the same tour.

While we did not do this tour all at one time, we have done the entire itinerary with G1on two separate tours. This is really an amazing tour. The BKK,Cambodia, and Vietnam is our favorite of 13 done to date, and the Thai tour is close behind. We did the river Kwai version. Gate 1does SE Asia RIGHT in all respects. Very good hotels, guides, and itineraries. You are in for an amazing journey of discovery!

With respect to luggage, whatever you have should be fine. Note that some of the internal flights only allow about 40 pounds, less than the transoceanic flights. You might be able to extend these to 50 pounds by joining their frequent flyer programs.

Plenty of ATM machines available along your way. This is our preferred method.

Most all optional are worth it, with exception of dinner cruise in BKK and Chang Mai buffet with native dance. That is a couple of kids with boom box according to tour mates. BKK dinner not that good and overpriced.

Hep A and typhoid recommended. Malaria meds recommended for Cambodia.

Let me know of any other questions.

Rick, you are very welcome.

I noticed that the BKK river cruise with buffet dinner is not even offered for your tour, nor most other Thailand tours. It is offered on the 17 day BKK, Cambodia, and Vietnam, however. Price is high at $72 p/p, and for those going on tours where it is available, not recommended.

Agreed with Randy, excellent tour. With the combination tours like that one, the group is divided up, the Thailand part will be full, then the other parts like over to Laos and "extention", etc, and on and on, will be less. Most ppl sign up for Thailand alone.
I would have to say, this trip was one of my favorites, so good, I am actually going back to Cambodia, and Vietnam next year. G1 does a bang up job on this one.

Sharon is right, this tour is made of two tours stitched together - the 18 day classic Thailand with Laos and Angkor Wat, and the 12 day classic Vietnam. There will be three sets of traveling companions- those doing it all like you, those doing the Thai, Laos, and Cambodia segment only, others doing only the Vietnam segment. So, it's goodbye to old friends in Siem Reap, and hello to new friends the next day In Ho Chi Minh.

I did not check the dates, but you may be joined by some that are doing the 17 day BKK, Cambodia, and Vietnam tour. They start in BKK about the time you are in Laos, and you would join them at Siem Reap.

Check the CDC TRAVEL SITE for good advice for meds, and even better consult a travel doctor.

You have picked a great tour. Not only is it G 1's longest I believe, but may also be the very best they have, hands down.
