I'll be on this trip. Skipping Tikal since I cannot walk a lot. I am doing the morning city tour and I intend to take a taxi to the Zoo afterwards. Anyone want to join me?

Edited to add that I have found some interesting one-day trips from Guatemala City with a tour company (Viator) that I have used before. Interested to see if anyone would like to join me.

I used Viator on a 10/15 Mexico City trip.

They are great!

To me, the best part of this trip is to Chichicastenango. It's a indigenous town with a market that will blow you away. Even by not going to Tikal, there is a lot of walking, on uneven terrain, all the street are cobble stones and you walk a lot of places. You better bring a cane or walker. Up and down hills etc.

I love Guatemala and spent 17 days in Chichicastenango on a mission trip to build energy efficient stoves. This town is a good gateway to visit many other areas of Guatemala and it is very inexpensive to get a car/driver to take you to other areas. I stayed in Los Arcos Pension and the owners were very helpful in helping to arrange transportation etc.

Hello travelers! We plan in August to go on a trip to USA. And as always, it does not do without "but". We assume that huddling in the 5th in one car may not be comfortable and along the way we will use the rental of an additional car. I studied the forums and faced a situation where people had problems with renting a car in USA. As far as is known, some companies are denied a lease with a Russian-style driver's license for the lack of information about the driver in case of a state of emergency. I rummaged through the Internet, I found quite a lot of offers of services for the "translation of a driver's license or an issue of international standard." I would like to clarify this issue in more detail. At the moment, the choice fell on the company https://iaalicense.com - I would like to know, maybe someone used their services? Or owns in more detail in general this issue? The price tag is not great, for safety I will turn to them, I will write by the results, but I would also like to hear experienced travelers. What do you think?
