We leave on Sunday for the 16 Day Kaleidescope Tour of India and Nepal. Any suggestions before we leave? We received our mulit - entry Visa from Cogs and Kings and will be getting the Nepal one at the airport - we have the photos.
Just wondering if anyone has advice for us. Has anyone take then Nepal part recently - after the earthquake? We did not book the flightseeing but may consider when we are there if we think the weather will be worth it.
thanks,
Rosemary

Dawn, I am going on this trip next March with 7 other fiber artists. Wondering if there is enough time in the marketplaces and the batik/silk factories for a group with our focus to experience. Though many of us have traveled extensively, India is a first for all 8 of us. Any suggestions for where to go in Delhi and Jaipur for batik and silk markets?
Also, how do you handle the water situation? Is bottled water from the hotels trustworthy?

In India Gate 1 provides plenty of bottled water to all at no charge. Bottled water in the hotels is fine. Always check that seal is intact on any water bottle before use.

thank you Randy and Deanie! Very evvious of your past travels!

I have another question if that is ok. I am getting conflicting information on the net about electrical converters to bring. I want to be able to recharge my camera battery and a couple other travelors in our group want to bring their tablets. I have a converter for converting from US to UK. Do I get the additional one that goes from UK to India?
Thank you for your iinput.

I am a little confused at your question. Certainly you need UK plug that you plug tour USAplug into. ALWAYS travel with a full set of 5 plugs you can get at travel stores, Sears, internet, etc. You should be prepared as many hotels now have various country plugs so having others allows you to use more than one outlet. I am in Nepal now, at Chitwan resort. It has only UK outlets with one exception for the skinny two pin outlet. Not what is really supposed to be here, but having a full set of adapters made it no problem. We also carry a standard USA three outlet adapter for those cases where there is only one outlet, which happens more than you think.
